Robbins reunites with St. Louis coach Steve Spagnuolo, the defensive coordinator with Robbins' Giants two seasons ago. Robbins had 5 1/2 sacks two years in a row under Spagnuolo before finishing with two last year as New York's defense was woeful. “I’m excited to join the Rams and I’m really looking forward to playing for Coach Spagnuolo again,†Robbins said. “The two seasons I spent with Coach Spagnuolo were two of the best years of my career. He’s a great coach."
The Giants placed Robbins on the active physically unable to perform list on Sunday as he continues to recover from a February knee surgery.|||||||
He has started running straight ahead, but Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he is unable to make cuts.
