Monroe missed the past two exhibition games after sustaining a concussion in practice. Coach Mike Mularkey says Monroe passed his concussion test Friday and was cleared to practice. Losing Monroe would be the latest setback for an injury plagued unit. Guard Will Rackley missed the preseason opener because of a high-ankle sprain, is still wearing a walking boot and will be sidelined at least another week. Defensive tackle C.J. Mosley stepped on Monroe's left ankle in practice Thursday, and Monroe was wearing a walking boot Friday. He sat out practice and was listed as questionable for the game. Monroe says the injury doesn't seem that bad and he expects to play against the Colts.
Monroe has ended a 12-day holdout by agreeing to a five-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.|||||||
Monroe, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound left tackle taken No. 8 from Virginia, could rejoin his teammates Saturday. He probably won't play in Monday night's preseason opener at Miami. Monroe had been expected to start this season. But he fell behind three-time Pro Bowler Tra Thomas and Jordan Black after missing 22 workouts.
