Amano will miss the 2012 season with a torn triceps muscle in his right arm.||||||| Amano started at center the past two seasons for the Titans. He was injured in Thursday night's practice when hit by a helmet while blocking on a pass attempt. He will have surgery next week.

Amano injured his right triceps in a collision in team drills Thursday night.||||||| Amano left the field holding his arm - the one he using on snaps - and was escorted to the locker room. "He got it caught it caught. I think a helmet hit, but I'm not sure," coach Mike Munchak said. "A lot of times once the soreness settles down, it's not an issue." Amano is fighting for his starting job with Kevin Matthews, who sat out practice because of concussion symptoms.

The Tennessee Titans have placed starting center Eugene Amano on injured reserve because of a neck injury.||||||| The Titans made the move Tuesday when players returned from a weekend off. Amano moved from left guard to center this season, and he had started all 13 games for an offense ranked 28th in total yards and 14th in rushing offense.

Amano is moving from left guard to center for the Titans.||||||| A strong offensive line is a hallmark of this franchise, which is tied with the Jets for producing an NFL-best 12 1,000-yard rushers since the start of the 1996. This unit has been coached by Hall of Fame lineman Mike Munchak since 1997, and the line is coming off one of its best seasons ever.

The Titans have agreed to terms with Amano on a multiyear contract.||||||| Entering his seventh season, Amano has started 41 games, including 31 in the last two years. Keeping Amano is a key piece to maintaining the Titans' offensive line - considered one of the best in the NFL. He helped pave the way for Chris Johnson to become just the sixth player in league history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.
