The team announced the deal Wednesday, the day after NFL free agency began.
Henderson will miss the game against Detroit on Sunday because of a concussion. His loss is a big one for a young and rebuilding Vikings defense. Henderson has been remaining in the game in passing situations as part of the nickel defense, and his absence will put more responsibility on middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley in the passing game. Brinkley is considered much better as a run defender.|||||||

Henderson was apparently hurt in Sunday's game at Indianapolis. Coach Leslie Frazier said the team had "no indications" he had a head injury at the time. Henderson didn't complain about symptoms until Wednesday, when he told Frazier he "did not feel right."

Henderson was one of the Vikings' most consistent players on defense last season. He was fourth on the team with 91 tackles and also had eight tackles for loss in his first season as a full-time starter.

The 25-year-old linebacker has agreed to terms on a one-year deal to stay with the team that signed him as a rookie free agent in 2008. His agent group tweeted the agreement on Friday. Henderson played very well last season in his first chance as a regular starter, emerging as one of the team's most versatile defenders. Playing alongside his brother E.J., he had 91 tackles and two forced fumbles in 15 games.
