He signed with the Buccaneers as a free agent last year and started 10 games, but missed time due to injuries and a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance policy.
Tampa Bay cornerback Eric Wright has been suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Wright is the second Tampa Bay starter disciplined for using Adderall. Cornerback Aqib Talib was suspended Oct. 13 for four games and subsequently traded to the New England Patriots while serving the ban.|||||||
Wright signed a five-year, $37.5 million contract with the Bucs as a free agent in March. He started the first 10 games of the season before sitting out Sunday's loss to Atlanta because of an Achilles tendon injury. The player issued a statement through his agent saying he took Adderall "at the end of July for health issues I was experiencing." Wright appealed the discipline, which was upheld by the NFL.

Wright has been arrested in Los Angeles for investigation of driving under the influence after police say he was involved in a crash near Staples Center. Los Angeles police Officer Karen Rayner says Wright was arrested early Monday after the Mercedes SLS he was driving rear-ended a pickup truck. The driver of the truck had unspecified injuries.|||||||
Authorities say Wright, who wasn't injured, refused to take sobriety tests. He was booked for investigation of felony DUI and bail was set at $100,000. Wright, a five-year veteran, signed with the Buccaneers this off-season after playing in Detroit last year. He had 73 tackles and four interceptions and 16 passes in 2011.
Wright has injured his right leg. Wright took himself out of practice Monday morning and had the inside of his right leg stretched. He went back in, then took himself out a few plays later.|||||||
