Bills would be wise to deal a running back
The Bills might not want to admit it, but their smartest move may be trading one of their three running backs while the players still have some value.

Bills can't win unless offense improves
Until the Bills' offense does a better job of running the ball and increasing time of possession, the team will be on the losing end of close games.
Bills’ backfield a three-headed mess
Everyone thought the Bills' backfield situation would be difficult to sort out. But nobody guessed that their power trio would be this ineffective.

Buffalo Bills receiver David Nelson and center Eric Wood are among the regulars who have been ruled out by coach Chan Gailey from playing in the team's preseason opener against the Washington Redskins on Thursday.|||||||
Wood has been getting more practice time in team sessions, but Gailey doesn't want to risk rushing back the player who is coming off season-ending knee surgery.

Wood says no timetable has been set for him to have surgery. He is aiming to be back in time for the start of training camp next summer. With a brace on his knee and walking on crutches, Wood provided the update in the locker room on Monday, a day after he was hurt in the third quarter of a 44-7 loss at Dallas.
Able to walk without a limp, Wood is confident his surgically repaired left leg will be fully recovered by the start of training camp this summer. Selected 28th overall out of Louisville last year, Wood was the second of Buffalo's two first-round draft picks. He started 10 games at right guard before being hurt.|||||||
That's great progress for a player who initially feared he might not play again after sustaining a gruesome injury in which he broke two bones in the leg during an 18-15 loss at Jacksonville on Nov. 22. Wood said Tuesday he has been off crutches for a few weeks, and has been cleared for light workouts as the Bills opened their voluntary spring workout program this week.
