Winston was in the fourth year of a $30 million, five-year deal when he was cut by the Houston Texans to save salary cap space. Winston helped Houston become the NFL's second-leading rushing team, and he will address a glaring need for the Chiefs.
Winston dislocated his finger in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Cowboys, but played through the injury. The Texans' offensive tackle entered the game after Zach Wiegert left with a sprained knee. Houston coach Gary Kubiak said he didn't consider Winston's injury serious.|||||||
