The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated linebacker Daryl Smith from injured reserve and placed Lowery on IR with a foot injury.||||||| Lowery's absence means second-year player Chris Prosinski moves back into the starting lineup. Prosinski started in place of Lowery earlier in the season.

Lowery is back in the starting lineup for the Jacksonville Jaguars after missing five games with a foot injury.||||||| Lowery is active for Sunday's game against Tennessee, a good sign for a defense that allowed 527 yards passing last week at Houston.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won't have starting safety Dwight Lowery available for Sunday's season finale against Indianapolis.||||||| Lowery was limited in practice all week because of a shoulder injury and had been listed as doubtful. Left tackle Eugene Monroe, listed as questionable, will start against the Colts.

Lowery is expected to replace Courtney Greene at free safety during this week's game against Carolina.||||||| The Jaguars have used 13 different starting lineups in their defensive backfield over the last 23 games. Jacksonville believes Lowery could be the final piece to solidifying what was one of the worst defenses in the league last season. The Jaguars used five different safeties in 2010 - Gerald Alexander, Don Carey, Sean Considine, Greene and Anthony Smith - and couldn't find success with any.
