The Cincinnati Bengals have acquired wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher on waivers from the Chicago Bears and placed Kirkpatrick on injured reserve.|||||||
Kirkpatrick, the 17th overall selection in the 2012 draft, has been sidelined with a knee injury. He played in five games this season, with two tackles on defense and two on special teams.

Kirkpatrick hasn't played because of a knee injury suffered over the summer. The first-round pick hadn't been active for any game so far.
Kirkpatrick may not make his pro debut this week after all. The Cincinnati Bengals' top draft pick had to sit out practice on Monday because his left knee was sore. He hurt the knee while working out over the summer and had to miss much of training camp and the first three preseason games.|||||||
Kirkpatrick was cleared to fully practice last week. Coach Marvin Lewis planned to play him in the final preseason game Thursday in Indianapolis, but that plan was put on hold when Kirkpatrick told the team his knee was bothering him on Monday. Kirkpatrick was the 17th overall pick in the draft. He'd hoped for a chance to win a starting job across from Leon Hall, but the injury ended that possibility.
