Hixon was being evaluated for a head injury. He took a hard helmet-to-helmet hit from linebacker Mason Foster earlier in the period.
The New York Giants have re-signed Hixon, who missed most of last season after surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He was hurt making a touchdown catch against the St. Louis Rams in the second week of the season.|||||||
Contract terms were not immediately available, but Hixon gives the Giants another option if Super Bowl hero Mario Manningham is not re-signed.

Hixon injured his right knee while making a juggling 22-yard touchdown catch with 21 seconds left in the first half. Hixon played on the Giants opening series in the third quarter but the team announced after it was over that he wouldn't return. Hixon missed all of last season after tearing the ACL during an offseason minicamp workout.
