Patterson, a former Philadelphia Eagle who joined the Browns as an unrestricted free agent in 2011, appeared in seven games this season with four starts. He posted 28 tackles and broke up five passes. Patterson signed a 3-year, $16 million deal in offseason with $6 million guaranteed.
