Schouman will be out three to six weeks with a knee injury, leaving Buffalo with only two healthy tight ends on its roster.||||||| Schouman was injured Thursday during Buffalo's 34-21 preseason win over the Indianapolis Colts. The extent of Schouman's injury was announced a day after fellow tight end Shawn Nelson was suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. With Michael Matthews and Jonathan Stupar the only healthy tight ends on the roster, general manager Buddy Nix is exploring all options at the position, coach Chan Gailey said.

Schouman has hurt his knee and it's too early to determine how much time he'll miss.||||||| Coach Chan Gailey provided that assessment following a 34-21 preseason victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night in Toronto. Schouman, who's been limited by injuries for part of training camp, was hurt early in the second quarter on a play in which quarterback Trent Edwards scrambled for 3 yards. It's unclear which knee Schouman hurt. It's the latest setback for Schouman, who finished last season on injured reserve after hurting his right knee in Week 2.

He has 27 catches for 275 yards and a touchdown in 21 games, including 15 starts.

Schouman missed practice Sunday and is out indefinitely with a strained left knee, all but ending his chance to win the starting job out of training camp.||||||| Coach Dick Jauron said trainers informed him that it will be weeks before Schouman is expected to be cleared for practice, meaning the player likely will miss the Bills' two final preseason games. The Bills' 2007 seventh-round draft pick out of Boise State, Schouman had three catches for 19 yards in three games as a rookie. His season ended in mid-November when he was placed on injured reserve after hurting his calf.
