The San Diego Chargers agreed to terms on a four-year contract with Cox, who had 12 interceptions the last four years with Jacksonville. The deal reportedly is worth $20 million.|||||||
Cox, 26, had four picks in 12 games last year. He's expected to slide into the starting lineup. Both of San Diego's starting cornerbacks, Quentin Jammer and Antoine Cason, are expected to leave as unrestricted free agents.

Cox injured his left hamstring in the preseason opener and has been sidelined since. Coach Mike Mularkey expects Will Middleton to start opposite Aaron Ross. Veteran Rashean Mathis, recovering from knee surgery, will play on passing downs.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed cornerback Derek Cox on injured reserve with a knee injury, the third defensive starter lost in the last two weeks. The team signed quarterback Dan LeFevour off Indianapolis' practice squad to take Cox's roster spot.|||||||
The Jaguars made the move Friday, three days after linebacker Clint Session was placed on IR following a second concussion this season. The team also lost cornerback Rashean Mathis to a season-ending knee injury nearly two weeks ago. Cox, who has 16 tackles and 10 passes defended this season, is the 17th player the Jaguars (3-7) have placed on IR this season.
