The 27-year-old linebacker leaves Houston as the Texans all-time leader with 637 tackles while also contributing eight sacks, six forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and two interceptions in his six-year career. Ryans missed most of the 2010 season after tearing his left Achilles' tendon. Eagles coach Andy Reid calls Ryans a "proven Pro Bowl linebacker" that he can plug into the middle of the defense.
Ryans will miss the rest of the season after tearing his left Achilles' tendon just before halftime of the Texans' 35-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.|||||||
Ryans jumped and fell to the turf on a touchdown by the Chiefs. He remained on the turf for a few minutes while trainers attended to him before being helped to the cart. Coach Gary Kubiak says Ryans will have surgery in the next couple of days to repair the injury.
