Once free agency began Tuesday, the Titans agreed to terms with Buffalo guard Andy Levitre and Walker, a person familiar with the situation said. The person spoke to The Associated Press Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the deals both are pending the players passing physicals.|||||||
Walker has spent his first seven NFL seasons with San Francisco. He has 123 career catches for 1,465 yards and eight touchdowns, and Walker caught 21 passes for 344 yards with three touchdowns last season for the 49ers. He will help replace Jared Cook, a tight end the Titans declined to tag as a franchise player last week because Cook wants to be paid more like a receiver.
Walker had four catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers' loss at Seattle on Sunday night.|||||||
Walker took advantage of some increased playing time after Vernon Davis went down with a concussion. He could be a decent tight end option if Davis can't play next week.
Walker is active for Sunday's NFC championship game against the New York Giants.|||||||
Walker has been out since breaking his jaw in two places Dec. 24 in Seattle.
Walker left with a jaw injury Saturday after taking a knee to his face.|||||||
He was taken to the locker room with a towel to his face. Justin Peelle replaced him.
Walker made two receptions for 53 yards in the 49ers' 34-13 loss to visiting Seattle on Sunday.|||||||
Walker turned in his best performance since making six catches for 66 yards in a loss to visiting Minnesota on Dec. 9. However, the 24-year-old tight end was hurt during the game, though he thinks his injured elbow will be fine. While he looks to build on this strong performance, he should also have plenty of time to recuperate as the 49ers' next game isn't until Nov. 10 at Arizona.
