Tennessee Titans have deactivated right tackle David Stewart against the Tampa Buccaneers due to a calf muscle along with middle linebacker Barrett Ruud.|||||||
Stewart hurt his right calf in a 23-17 loss to Atlanta last week, and he is missing only his second start since moving into the lineup in 2006. He missed a start due to an injury in 2009.
Stewart has a sore left hamstring that could keep him out for a week, so the Tennessee Titans have signed veteran offensive tackle Adam Terry.|||||||

Stewart signed a six-year, $39 million extension in June, shortly after left tackle Michael Roos signed a $43 million deal. A fourth-round pick in 2005, Stewart started 30 games the last two years at right tackle. He's been bothered by a cartilage tear since last season. Titans coach Jeff Fisher said the injury was minor, and Stewart has a chance to play in the fourth and final preseason game.
The Titans signed Stewart to a multiyear contract extension Monday. Details were not released.|||||||
Stewart has started 30 games at tackle during his three-year career, including all 16 games last season. He had signed a one-year tender earlier this offseason as a restricted free agent. Stewart is the Titans' second starting offensive lineman to sign since April. Left tackle Michael Roos agreed to a multiyear deal earlier.
