Buehler has signed with the New York Giants. The team announced the move Wednesday.||||||| Lawrence Tynes is entering the final year of his contract with New York, and Buehler will provide some competition in training camp. Buehler played for the Cowboys from 2009-11, handling kickoff duties most of the time. He led the NFL in 2009 with 29 touchbacks.

The Dallas Cowboys have released Buehler.||||||| Buehler was primarily a kickoff specialist for the Cowboys, but missed most of last season with a groin injury. The move was announced Tuesday before free agency began. A fifth-round draft pick out of USC in 2009, Buehler played in 36 career games for the Cowboys with 60 touchbacks. He made 24 of 32 field goals, 42 of 44 extra points and had 19 tackles on special teams.

The Dallas Cowboys have placed Buehler on injured reserve because of a groin injury, ending his season. The move was made Thursday, a day after Buehler re-aggravated the injury. The kickoff specialist had been back for only two games after missing the previous four.||||||| With Buehler limited at the start of the season because of the injury, rookie Dan Bailey took over kicking field goals. Bailey has made 20 of 21 attempts, including his last 19 in a row for a Cowboys rookie record.

Six days after Buehler missed an extra point in the final minutes of a 28-27 loss to Arizona, the Cowboys signed veteran Kris Brown. He could be used Sunday for the season finale against Philadelphia.||||||| Buehler remains valuable to the Cowboys as a kickoff specialist. He set a club record for touchbacks last season, although his boots have suffered this year with his added duties on PATs and field goals. He is 24 of 31 on field goals, including three misses from the 30s.
