Goldson signed a $41.25 million, five-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.||||||| Goldson spent the past two seasons on one-year contracts with the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, including last year with the franchise tag for $6.2 million. Goldson made it clear he sought a long-term deal for his future security, and he got it across the country with the Bucs. Goldson had wanted a long-term deal but never gave any indication that he wouldn't report to camp after the July 16 deadline for franchise tagged players to agree to a new contract passed.

"There are no immediate plans to sign the franchise tag," Goldson's representative, Ben Dogra of CAA Sports, said in a text message. "We will continue to speak with the 49ers."
