The Ravens signed veteran LBs Darryl Blackstock and Ricky Brown, and OG Cord Howard the team announced Wednesday.

Blackstock agreed Monday to stay with the Bengals, who have taken two hits to their offense in the first days of free agency.||||||| Blackstock, an unrestricted free agent, started four games last season and appeared in eight others, getting 17 tackles. He was suspended for four games by the NFL for using a performance-enhancing substance. The Bengals have lost right tackle Stacy Andrews, who signed with Philadelphia, and second-string quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who went to Buffalo as a free agent.

The Bengals agreed to terms on a one-year contract Monday with the unrestricted free agent Blackstock.||||||| The 6-foot-4, 244-pound Blackstock has 44 career tackles and four sacks in 46 games with the Arizona Cardinals, who chose him in the third round of the 2005 draft. He had 21 tackles and three sacks last season.

With a potentially season-ending injury to outside linebacker Chike Okeafor in Saturday's preseason opener at Oakland, Darryl Blackstock and Calvin Pace will be competing for the starting job.||||||| Blackstock, a third-round draft pick out of Virginia in 2005, boasted that he was ready to win the linebacking job. "I know I'm going to take it," he said. "I've been standing there too long, man. I'm ready to play. I'm more than ready to play." Blackstock made one start in 16 games last season, and finished with six tackles.
