The San Diego Chargers have agreed to a two-year contract with former New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead.||||||| Woodhead is expected to complement Ryan Mathews, who's been plagued with injuries and a fumbling problem. Woodhead was New England's second-leading rusher with 301 yards and four touchdowns on 76 carries while catching 40 passes for 446 yards and three scores.

Woodhead is active for the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.||||||| He missed most of the Patriots' 41-28 playoff win over Houston last week. Woodhead hurt his left thumb carrying the ball on the Patriots' first offensive play.

Woodhead rushed for a career-high 93 yards on 13 carries and scored his sixth career touchdown in a 34-3 rout of Buffalo on Sunday.||||||| Woodhead has proved another spectacular find for the Patriots. He has 528 rushing yards and 34 receptions for 379 yards.

Woodhead had four catches for 104 yards and two carries for 11 yards in Monday night's 45-3 rout of Rex Ryan's Jets.||||||| Woodhead used to play for the Jets, but no longer does. "This is where I am. I'm a New England Patriot," Woodhead added. "Was I over there? Yeah. But that's not something I dwell on because I'm a New England Patriot, and I'm going to do my best for this team."
