Woodhead is expected to complement Ryan Mathews, who's been plagued with injuries and a fumbling problem. Woodhead was New England's second-leading rusher with 301 yards and four touchdowns on 76 carries while catching 40 passes for 446 yards and three scores.
Woodhead is active for the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.|||||||
He missed most of the Patriots' 41-28 playoff win over Houston last week. Woodhead hurt his left thumb carrying the ball on the Patriots' first offensive play.
