Fells has 88 catches for 1,001 yards and eight touchdowns in four NFL seasons. After spending three years with St. Louis, he had 19 receptions for 256 yards and three TDs last season for Denver. Fells made a career-high 15 starts with the Broncos.

Fells was signed off of Tampa Bay's practice squad in October 2008 and emerged as an effective second tight end for St. Louis. He played in 14 games with four starts in 2009 before missing the final two games with a knee injury. Fells had 21 catches for 273 yards. Two of his touchdown catches came in a game against Green Bay.
