Connor can play both inside and outside, so his signing casts some doubt on whether New York will bring back middle linebacker Chase Blackburn, who is a free agent.

Connor was one of seven free agents Dallas added in free agency last offseason. He got a two-year contract and started eight games after Sean Lee and Bruce Carter were injured.

Connor, who started in place of injured leading tackler Sean Lee, got hurt early in the second quarter. He remained down on the ground at the end of a play when the Giants fumbled. The Cowboys said Connor was out of the game.
