The Buccaneers have signed safety Corey Lynch and cornerback Marcus Hamilton to fill two openings in a struggling secondary.|||||||
Lynch was signed Wednesday from the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad. Lynch and Hamilton fill roster spots that opened Tuesday when safety Jermaine Phillips was placed on injured reserve and safety Steve Cargile was released. Phillips broke his thumb during last week's 33-20 loss at Buffalo.
Lynch went on the season-ending injured reserve on Monday with a knee injury, according to the Bengals' official Web site.|||||||
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said the injury may have also involved a bone injury. Lynch, a sixth-rounder from Appalachian State, suffered the injury on special teams Sunday in Houston. He played in seven of the team's eight games and had three tackles and an interception.
