Gordon was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.||||||| The move was made in order to make room on the 90-man roster for former first-round pick Kentwan Balmer, who was claimed off waivers Thursday.

The Cowboys signed Gordon on Tuesday, filling a vacancy on the 53-man roster and bolstering a secondary that might be without starting safety Gerald Sensabaugh for the next month.||||||| Gordon has been with San Diego, Houston and Detroit this season. He broke into the league with San Diego in 2006 when current Dallas coach Wade Phillips was the Chargers' defensive coordinator. In 30 career games, including one start, Gordon has 17 tackles, two pass breakups and 12 special teams tackles.

Gordon signed a one-year contract with the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday.||||||| Gordon was an exclusive rights free agent. He played in 14 games last season, mostly on special teams and has no fantasy value.

Third-string cornerback Cletis Gordon was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Monday, the sixth run-in with the law by a Chargers player since April. San Diego police took Gordon, a 23-year-old rookie, into custody in downtown's Gaslamp Quarter about 2:15 a.m., some 10 hours after the Chargers beat the Oakland Raiders 21-14. His car was impounded, and he was released on his own recognizance later in the morning, a jail clerk said.||||||| Gordon, who signed as an undrafted rookie, had a wrist injury early in the season and hasn't made it onto the field all year.

Gordon is probable for Monday's game against the Oakland Raiders. The San Diego Chargers cornerback is recovering from a wrist injury but is expected to play.||||||| Gordon is the lowest of five cornerbacks on the Chargers depth chart.
