Ponder's strong finish to the regular season may have gone a long way toward solidifying his spot as the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. The offense's dreadful performance in the playoff game against Green Bay with him on the sideline probably didn't hurt his standing, either.||||||| Ponder was a late scratch Saturday night because of a bruised triceps and backup Joe Webb was unable to get anything going in a 24-10 loss that ended Minnesota's surprising season. If the Vikings make any moves at quarterback, it could be to add a veteran backup to Ponder.
Posted Jan. 05, 2013
Ponder is inactive for Minnesota's wild-card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers because of a right elbow injury.||||||| The surprise announcement about 90 minutes before Saturday's game means Joe Webb will start at quarterback for the Vikings. Ponder was hurt when Packers safety Morgan Burnett delivered a jarring hit on a blitz when the teams played last Sunday. Ponder finished the game with a career-high 120.2 passer rating and three touchdowns in the 37-34 win.

The Minnesota Vikings have listed Ponder as questionable for their playoff game on Saturday against Green Bay.||||||| Ponder was limited in practice all week with a bruised right elbow. He hurt it when it hit a Packers helmet on the follow-through on Sunday, and he remained in the game to finish one of the best performances of his career.
Posted Jan. 02, 2013
Ponder is dealing with a sore right elbow that has been limiting him in practice this week as they prepare for a playoff game at Green Bay.||||||| Coach Leslie Frazier says he isn't concerned with Ponder's ability to play in the game on Saturday. Frazier says he expects Ponder to ramp it up in practice on Thursday and be ready to go for the third game this season between the division rivals.
Posted Dec. 31, 2012
Ponder helped the Vikings clinch a playoff spot by going 16 of 28 for 234 yards and three touchdowns in Minnesota's victory against Green Bay on Sunday.||||||| In a season in which Ponder has often been maligned for dragging down the Vikings' offense, he came through in a big way in Minnesota's most important game.
