Ponder's strong finish to the regular season may have gone a long way toward solidifying his spot as the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. The offense's dreadful performance in the playoff game against Green Bay with him on the sideline probably didn't hurt his standing, either.|||||||
Ponder was a late scratch Saturday night because of a bruised triceps and backup Joe Webb was unable to get anything going in a 24-10 loss that ended Minnesota's surprising season. If the Vikings make any moves at quarterback, it could be to add a veteran backup to Ponder.
