Myers confirmed in a phone interview on Friday night that he had signed a four-year deal. The 6-foot-4, 289-pound Myers made his first Pro Bowl last season after anchoring one of the NFL's top offensive lines. Houston set a franchise record for yards rushing (2,448) and ranked second in rushing offense (153 yards per game) in 2011, a key to its first playoff appearance.

The Houston Texans' starting center was taken off the field on a cart. Myers, who started all 16 games last year after coming over in a trade with Denver, suffered the injury early in what coach Gary Kubiak termed a ``sloppy'' practice. The coach said it wasn't know how bad the injury was.
The Houston Texans traded their sixth-round pick in April's draft Monday to Denver for Myers. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Myers, drafted by the Broncos in the sixth round of the 2005 draft, played in 41 games for Denver, including 16 starts last season. He was a rookie when Texans coach Gary Kubiak was Denver's offensive coordinator.|||||||
Myers, a former standout at Miami, (Fla.), started the first five games of 2007 at left guard, then slid inside to center for the last 11 games. The Broncos' offense averaged 346.3 yards per game, ranking 11th in the NFL, and their 4.6 yards-per-carry average was fifth-best in the league.
Myers will get the start Sunday at Buffalo because doctors have ordered Ben Hamilton not to do any type of physical activity for two weeks in hopes his post-concussion symptoms will finally fade.|||||||
