Kemoeatu left Monday's victory against the Bengals with an injured right ankle.||||||| He was replaced by Doug Legursky. Kemoeatu was the third offensive lineman to leave that game.

Kemoeatu will sit out Sunday's game against Green Bay with right wrist and right knee injuries.||||||| Coach Mike Tomlin says Kemoeatu has been "playing one-handed" at times because of the wrist injury and that he needs a week off to heal. Kemoeatu will be replaced by undrafted rookie Ramon Foster.

Kemoeatu turned down an offer from the New York Jets and re-signed Friday with the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.||||||| Kemoeatu's contract is worth $20 million over five seasons and pays him a signing bonus of nearly $4 million, which is believed to be less than the Jets were offering. The Steelers released former starting right guard Kendall Simmons on Thursday. Losing Kemoeatu - who helped them win a Super Bowl in his first season as a starter - would have left them with former undrafted free agent Darnell Stapleton as their only experienced guard.

Kemoeatu accepted his one-year tender offer on Tuesday and will stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers.||||||| Kemoeatu has played in 18 career games at guard and on special teams and made two starts at right guard in 2006. A fifth-round draft pick in 2005, he will make $1,417,000.

The Steelers have made a one-year contract offer to Kemoeatu, reportedly for more than $1.4 million. With the offers, the Steelers reserve the right to retain Kemoeatu by matching any offers from other teams during the free-agent signing period, which starts Friday.||||||| Kemoeatu is entering his fourth season. He was a sixth-round pick in the 2005 draft and played in 15 games in 2007-08.
