The Minnesota Vikings will have Cook on the field in Houston, after a six-game absence because of a broken right arm.||||||| Coach Leslie Frazier said after Friday's practice that Cook will play Sunday against the Texans. Cook was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return, and this is the first week he's eligible to be reinstated to the active roster. The Vikings didn't immediately make a corresponding move to make room. This is the third straight season that Cook has missed significant time. He had knee problems his rookie year and legal trouble last season.

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph has passed his post-concussion tests. Cornerback Chris Cook hasn't.||||||| Rudolph returned to practice on Monday, but Cook was held out again. Both players were hurt last week in a preseason game against Buffalo.

The Minnesota Vikings say cornerback Chris Cook's acquittal on assault charges has opened the door for him to return to the team. Cook is entering his third NFL season and will be counted on to help a Vikings secondary that struggled during last year's 3-13 season.||||||| Cook was acquitted Thursday of all charges that he assaulted his girlfriend in October. The team suspended him when the charges were levied. They later reinstated him to the active roster but told him to stay away from the team while the court process played out. In a statement issued after Thursday's verdict, the team said it "will meet with Chris in the near future and believe he deserves the opportunity to rejoin our organization."

The Minnesota Vikings are discussing suspended cornerback Chris Cook's future. Coach Leslie Frazier said he'd be meeting Monday afternoon with team officials to "see which direction we're going to be heading" with Cook, who was charged last week with felony domestic assault for allegedly trying to strangle his girlfriend. Frazier sidestepped a question at his news conference about whether Cook could be released.||||||| The Vikings have their bye this week, but Frazier said "all indications are" cornerback Antoine Winfield will be back from a neck injury to play Green Bay on Nov. 14. Winfield has missed four games. He said "without a doubt" he'll be on the field against the Packers.

Cook was charged Tuesday with trying to strangle his girlfriend, leaving her with a bloody nose and lip in an alleged attack that jeopardizes his status with the team.||||||| Cook was charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation, which carries a penalty of up to three years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The 24-year-old Cook was arrested early Saturday and released from custody Tuesday on $40,000 bail. He cannot leave Minnesota, which would prevent him from traveling with the Vikings to Sunday's game at Carolina.
