Greenway has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl team as an injury replacement for DeMarcus Ware of the Dallas Cowboys.||||||| The Vikings made the announcement Thursday. Greenway will be the first Vikings linebacker to play in consecutive Pro Bowls since Scott Studwell in 1987-88. Greenway was picked as an injury replacement last year for Lance Briggs of the Chicago Bears.

The Minnesota Vikings have placed the franchise tag on Greenway. The Vikings announced the decision Monday.||||||| Greenway has led the team in tackles for three straight seasons. He was chosen the team's 2010 defensive MVP and had 149 tackles. Greenway will be entering his sixth season in the league, including a rookie season that he sat out with a knee injury.

Greenway was placed on injured reserve Thursday, ending the rookie's season.||||||| Greenway, the team's first-round draft pick, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while covering a kickoff in Monday night's exhibition game against Oakland.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Greenway is out for the season with a knee injury suffered during the Vikings' 16-13 preseason loss to the Oakland Raiders on Monday. The team has not released details of the injury, but it is reported to be a torn ACL.||||||| Greenway was selected by the Vikings with the 17th selection overall in April's NFL draft. The outside linebacker out of Iowa had 252 tackles, seven sacks four interceptions and 20 passes deflected in 45 games for the Hawkeyes.
