PLAYER NEWS
The Bengals have agreed to a two-year deal with Peerman, a special teams standout who could have become a free agent next week.|||||||
Peerman had two long runs off fake punts last season. He also carried 34 times for 178 yards.
Peerman had 100 yards and a touchdown on six carries in the Bengals' 30-28 win over Indianapolis in their final preseason game Thursday.|||||||
Peerman also added 14 yards on four catches Thursday, showing some ability that could make him valuable on third downs. However, he has little fantasy value due to being low on the depth chart.
The Bengals added another running back by claiming Peerman off waivers from the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.|||||||
The 5-foot-9, 210-pound halfback was Baltimore's sixth-round pick last year. He played in the preseason, then was waived and claimed by Cleveland on Sept. 6. He spent four weeks on the Browns' practice squad and was released. Detroit signed him to its practice squad and later promoted him to the roster for a couple of games, although he never carried the ball. The Lions waived him on March 16.
