The Washington Redskins have restored Griffin to the 53-man roster in time for the playoffs after his four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.||||||| Coach Mike Shanahan said Friday that Griffin will be available for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Griffin's suspension ended Monday, and the coaching staff gauged his fitness in practice during the week. He was a regular in nickel packages and had 33 tackles and a forced fumble before his suspension.

Free agent cornerback Cedric Griffin has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins. He was expected to sign his contract Friday. The Redskins could be looking to move Griffin to safety, where the team is seeking to replace LaRon Landry and Oshiomogho Atogwe.||||||| Griffin was cut last week by Minnesota, where he played for six years. He came back after tearing the ACL in both knees in 2010 to play in all 16 games last year, but he wasn't able to regain his previous form, was benched late in the season and expressed dissatisfaction with his demotion. He had three years left on his contract when he was released by the Vikings and had been due $4.1 million in salary for 2012.

The Minnesota Vikings have lost Griffin for the rest of the season to another significant knee injury.||||||| Coach Brad Childress confirmed Tuesday that Griffin hurt his right knee against the New York Jets the night before and won't return in 2010. Griffin tore the ACL in his left knee last January in the NFC championship game and rejoined the Vikings in Week 3. In just his second game back, Griffin injured the other knee in the third quarter against the Jets. Childress stopped short of confirming he tore the ACL, but said "it's probably headed that way."

Griffin has returned to Minnesota's starting lineup, eight months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.||||||| Griffin blew out his left knee in the NFC championship game against the Saints last January, an anterior cruciate ligament injury that typically requires about nine months of recovery. He missed the first two games.
