Wake gained about 10 pounds since the end of last season to accommodate his move from outside linebacker to defensive end as the Dolphins switch from a 3-4 scheme to a 4-3 defense.|||||||
The move should be seamless for Wake, whose career took off when he racked up 39 sacks in two years while playing defensive end for the CFL's British Columbia Lions in 2007-08.
The Miami Dolphins have extended linebacker Cameron Wake's contract through the 2016 season. Wake had one year and $650,000 left on his previous deal. ESPN is reporting the extension is worth $49 million, with $20 million guaranteed.|||||||
Wake has 28 sacks and four forced fumbles with Miami after coming to the Dolphins from the Canadian Football League, where he was a two-time defensive player of the year.
Wake played in Sunday's Pro Bowl after a stellar season in which his 14 sacks ranked him third in the league.|||||||
