McFadden, who has a strained abdomen, did not practice Thursday.||||||| McFadden also did not practice early last week, but he returned to practice Friday and played in the AFC championship game - albeit with a somewhat reduced workload. William Gay assumed McFadden's role as the team's No. 2 cornerback.

McFadden is active for the AFC championship game against the New York Jets.||||||| He was limited by an abdominal injury from the win over Baltimore last Saturday.

The Steelers reacquired McFadden plus a sixth-round draft pick from the Arizona Cardinals for one of Pittsburgh's three picks in the fifth round.||||||| McFadden started for the Steelers' Super Bowl-winning team in the 2008 season, then signed with Arizona as a free agent before last season. He is the third player to return to the Steelers during the offseason. They previously re-signed wide receiver Antwaan Randle El and inside linebacker Larry Foote.

McFadden and teammate Troy Polamalu were hurt on the same play in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 38-10 win at Cincinnati.||||||| McFadden suffered an arm injury and was expected to have tests. He is considered day-to-day for Sunday's home game versus the New York Giants. Polamalu, meanwhile, lost his helmet while tackling Benson and was unsteady as he walked off the field. Neither returned.

McFadden will not play in Sunday's game against Seattle because of a severely sprained ankle.||||||| McFadden, the primary backup to starters Deshea Townsend and Ike Taylor, was injured in last weekend's 21-14 loss at Arizona. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he will be replaced in the nickel package by rookie William Gay.
