The Redskins have announced the re-signing of Kehl.|||||||
Kehl's strength is special teams, and his signing Friday helps soften the blow of the loss of Lorenzo Alexander, the Pro Bowl special teams player who left the Redskins as a free agent this week to sign with the Arizona Cardinals.
The Chiefs released Kehl to create a roster space that coach Romeo Crennel plans to fill later this week.|||||||
Kehl has played in 62 games over four-plus seasons with the Chiefs, New York Giants and St. Louis Rams. He played in 14 games and started once last season for St. Louis, and had been active in three games for Kansas City after getting signed midway through this season.
Kehl has signed with the Washington Redskins after spending the last two seasons with the St. Louis Rams.|||||||
The 6-foot-2, 244-pound Kehl has played in 59 NFL games, including five starts, for the Rams and the New York Giants. He has made 58 tackles, one interception, one sack and two fumble recoveries.
The Giants say they released Kehl.|||||||
They made the move to make room for tight end Bear Pascoe.
Kehl, who recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff against the Chiefs on Sunday, underwent surgery Tuesday for a fractured left index finger|||||||
