Pool, who previously played for Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and new secondary coach Jerome Henderson, was released Monday.|||||||
Pool signed a one-year deal with Dallas during free agency in March. Before playing the last two years for the New York Jets, Pool began his career with five seasons in Cleveland. Ryan and Henderson were there his last year with the Browns, when Pool had a career-high four interceptions.
The Dallas Cowboys have reached a deal with free agent safety Brodney Pool. Coach Jason Garrett said Thursday that Pool is a very athletic safety who makes a lot of plays in the passing game. Terms were not disclosed.|||||||
Poole played the last two seasons for the New York Jets after five seasons with Cleveland, where he played for Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and their new secondary coach Jerome Henderson. Pool had 36 tackles and an interception last season. In 100 career games with Cleveland (2005-09) and the Jets (2010-11), he has 365 tackles with 13 interceptions. Cleveland drafted Pool in the second round out of Oklahoma in 2005.

He was attempting to make a tackle when he was run over. He took a while to get up, but would eventually return.

Coach Rex Ryan adds that he's "a little concerned" about Pool, who sustained a minor sprain in his left knee but was able to finish the game against the Bills.
A person familiar with the deal says the Jets have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the veteran safety on Wednesday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the deal.|||||||
Pool signed with the Jets last offseason after spending his first five NFL seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Pool, 27, had 53 tackles, a sack and an interception in 15 games, including 12 starts, for the Jets.
