The Texans will sign CB Stanford Routt after working him out on Tuesday, PFW correspondent John McClain of the Houston Chronicle first reported.

McCain has signed a three-year contract to stay with the Houston Texans. The 5-foot-9 McCain announced on Twitter late Tuesday that he had agreed to terms and thanked his agent, David Canter.|||||||
McCain was a sixth-round draft pick by the Texans in 2009. He played in 12 games with two starts last season before breaking his left foot in a Dec. 2 game against Tennessee.
The Houston Texans have signed veteran cornerback Stanford Routt after placing McCain on injured reserve with a designation for return.|||||||
McCain, Houston's nickel cornerback, had surgery to repair a broken left foot Monday. He must sit out eight weeks, which means the earliest he could play is if the Texans reach the Super Bowl.
