The Baltimore Ravens have terminated the contract of Ayanbadejo, a three-time Pro Bowler on special teams.||||||| Ayanbadejo has played 10 seasons in the NFL, the last five with Baltimore. He started four games at linebacker for the Ravens, but his main contribution was on special teams. General manager Ozzie Newsome announced the move Thursday.

The Baltimore Ravens have placed Ayanbadejo on the injured reserve list and filled his spot on the roster by signing linebacker Prescott Burgess.||||||| Ayanbadejo tore his left quadriceps in Sunday's game against New England. A three-time special teams Pro Bowler, Ayanbadejo has six special teams tackles this season. He also ranks second on the Baltimore defense with 22 tackles.

The Ravens agreed to terms Thursday with Ayanbadejo, a special teams star who played for the Chicago Bears.||||||| Ayanbadejo agreed to a four-year contract worth $4.9 million, including a $1.9 million signing bonus, and will sign the deal next week, Ravens officials said. Ayanbadejo, 31, chose the Ravens over the New York Jets in part because of the opportunity to be a backup inside linebacker in addition to his duties in kick coverage. Named the Bears' special-teams captain last year, Ayanbadejo was named to the Pro Bowl twice.

The Miami Dolphins have traded Ayanbadejo to the Chicago Bears in exchange for tight end John Owens and a future conditional draft pick. The reserve linebacker led the Dolphins in special teams tackles each of the past two years and was an alternate on special teams for the Pro Bowl last season.||||||| In 32 career games, Ayanbadejo has 57 tackles and one interception. He'll see most of his time on special teams, but also will be used as a backup on defense.
