New York Jets right guard Brandon Moore had a "minor procedure" and will sit out practice this week, but will be ready for the team's season opener against Buffalo on Sept. 9.||||||| Team spokesman Bruce Speight did not clarify the nature of the procedure, which had been previously scheduled, since teams aren't required to put out injury reports until the regular season begins. Moore, who has had some hip issues in the past, was not at practice Tuesday.

Moore is active Sunday and starting after missing practice all week with a sore hip.||||||| Thus is a big boost for the Jets, who need to remain in the playoff hunt.

Moore sat out practice Wednesday with an injury.||||||| Coach Rex Ryan says Moore is dealing with a sore hip, but expects him to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Moore, who has played in 117 consecutive games, had offseason hip surgery that he was still recovering from in the preseason.

Moore is back with the Jets now that a deal for his replacement fell through.||||||| The Jets re-signed the right guard Saturday to a four-year, $16 million deal a day after Pittsburgh left guard Chris Kemoeatu turned down an offer from New York and returned to the Steelers. Moore agreed to terms Friday after being cut Thursday by the Jets, who were due to pay the seven-year veteran a $7 million roster bonus under his former contract.
