Mebane returned to full participation in practice Friday and is expected to play at Carolina on Sunday.|||||||
Mebane was held out of practice Thursday with a calf injury. Head coach Pete Carroll says he's "in good shape" to play. Mebane has a history of calf ailments in the past, missing one game in the 2009 season and four in 2010 due to calf issues.
Mebane is returning to Seattle after the Seahawks were able to lock up the free agent defensive tackle with a new contract. Seattle general manager John Schneider announced Mebane had re-signed on Friday afternoon. Terms of the deal were not immediately known.|||||||
Mebane has spent his entire career with the Seahawks, developing into an important cog in trying to stop the run. Mebane had 35 tackles and one sack in 12 games last season for the Seahawks. Since being drafted in the third round by the Seahawks in 2007, Mebane has started 53 of 59 games.

Mebane, a defensive tackle from California, was taken with the 85th pick. The 6-foot-1, 314-pound Mebane is expected to join Seattle's rotation on running downs. The Seahawks' defensive front was depleted by injuries last season.
