Browner is expected to start for the Seattle Seahawks in the playoff opener Sunday at Washington despite just returning this week from his four-game suspension.|||||||
Coach Pete Carroll said Browner looked fine in practice but that the team will watch his fatigue during the game. Veteran Marcus Trufant will likely get the nod as Seattle's fifth defensive back in passing situations, while Leroy Hill and Malcolm Smith will likely split time at outside linebacker.
Browner has dropped the appeal of his suspension for using performance-enhancing substances and will miss the final four games of the regular season. Browner's decision was announced by the league on Wednesday. He will be eligible to rejoin the team on Dec. 31 and able to play in the postseason should the Seahawks make the playoffs.|||||||
News broke after Seattle's loss at Miami on Nov. 25 that Browner and fellow starting cornerback, Richard Sherman, were both facing suspensions after testing positive for PEDs. Sherman is continuing with his plans to appeal and can continue to play while his suspension is being appealed. Browner has 44 tackles, three interceptions and six passes defensed this season.

Sherman spoke for the first time since news first broke saying he and Browner failed tests for performance-enhancing drugs and face possible four-game suspensions. The Seahawks expect the pair to play this week at Chicago as they appeal.
