Banks has been released from the hospital, nearly a week after a stabbing that left him with a collapse lung. His agent, James Gould, said Friday that a tube in Banks' left lung has been removed and that the lung is now inflated. He said Banks should be able to resume normal activities in three to four weeks.||||||| Banks and a friend were stabbed outside of a downtown D.C. nightclub during an argument with another man early Saturday. The wound penetrated Banks' lung, requiring a longer hospital stay than initially expected. A suspect has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. The 23-year-old Banks had an impressive season with the Redskins last year as an undrafted rookie out of Kansas State.

Banks suffered a collapsed lung when he was stabbed outside a nightclub, and efforts to keep the lung inflated have delayed his discharge from the hospital. James Gould, Banks' agent, on Wednesday released the most detailed statement yet concerning Banks' condition. Gould said the knife nicked Banks' left lung when Banks and a friend were stabbed in downtown D.C. early Saturday.||||||| A tube had been inserted to inflate the lung, but the lung wouldn't stay inflated when it was removed. Gould said if the lung doesn't respond by Friday, then a procedure using a scope will be performed to repair the lung. Gould said Banks is expected to have 100 percent recovery and resume offseason training in two to four weeks.

Banks has had a tube inserted into his chest as he remains hospitalized following a stabbing.||||||| Banks' agent, James Gould, said Tuesday that Banks is still expected to have a 100 percent recovery from the stabbing that occurred outside a D.C. nightclub early Saturday. Police said the stabbing occurred after a man got into an argument with two men and stabbed them. Banks' friend remains in the hospital with more serious wounds. Another man has been charged with assault.

Banks is expected to miss two to three weeks after having knee surgery during the bye week.||||||| Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that Banks was injured in last week's game against the Detroit Lions and felt sore after practice two days later. An MRI revealed a torn meniscus, and Banks had his operation Wednesday. He ranks third in the NFL in punt returns with a 13.8-yard average and ninth in kickoff returns with a 27.3-yard average.
