Albert has signed his franchise tender.||||||| The Chiefs announced that Albert signed his deal on Thursday, two weeks after placing the franchise tag on him. Albert will make $9.828 million if he plays under the one-year contract. That is no sure thing, though. The Chiefs have spoken to his representatives about a long-term contract, and it's also possible that Kansas City will trade Albert in the coming weeks.

Kansas City will be without left tackle Branden Albert against the NFL's best pass rush when they play Denver on Sunday.||||||| Albert is inactive after sustaining a back injury in last week's loss to Cincinnati. Rookie Donald Stephenson starts in his place.

Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe left Sunday's game against Cincinnati with a neck injury and Albert left with a back injury, while Bengals cornerback Terence Newman was sidelined with a concussion.||||||| Albert was hurt early in the third quarter, though it was unclear exactly how he was hurt. He lay flat on the field for several minutes before slowly walking off the field.
