The New England Patriots released tight end Bo Scaife and offensive lineman Mike Ingersoll on Tuesday. Both players had been signed as free agents this month.||||||| Scaife played six of his seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans, catching 251 passes for 2,383 yards and 12 touchdowns in 90 games. He spent last year on the Cincinnati Bengals injured reserve list because of a neck injury then signed with the Patriots on June 7.

The New England Patriots signed tight end Bo Scaife on Friday.||||||| Scaife, 31, played six seasons with the Tennessee Titans after being selected in the 2005 sixth round out of Texas. The Denver native has played in 90 games with 62 starts, and has 251 receptions, 2,383 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns for his career. Last season, he had 36, 318 and four as the Titans finished 9-7, in second place behind Houston in the AFC South. Scaife's best season came in 2008-09, when he had 561 yards receiving.

Scaife is likely to be placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.||||||| Scaife is slated behind Jermaine Gresham on the depth chart and isn't likely to produce big numbers even if he does return this season.

Scaife doesn't know if talking about a possibly divided locker room got him benched. That also isn't stopping him from talking about what could be his final days with the franchise.||||||| Scaife had started 12 of the 13 games he played in this season but said he didn't know if his comments led to his benching. "Coach. Coach makes all the decisions on the team," Scaife said. "So if he felt that I needed to be inactive and that was the best decision for the team, then that's how he felt." Fantasy owners may want to shy away from Scaife for the rest of the season since he appears to be in coach Jeff Fisher's doghouse.
