Scott is not active for the team's game against the Miami Dolphins because of a toe injury, ending his streak of consecutive games played at 119.||||||| Scott has a hyperextended big toe on his right foot that has bothered him since the third game of the season. He didn't practice all week after playing just nine defensive snaps against the New England Patriots last Sunday. Scott, whose streak dates to 2004 with Baltimore, is being replaced by rookie Demario Davis.

The Jets have fined Scott $10,000 for an obscene gesture he made toward a photographer in the team's locker room Monday. After gathering items from his locker at the team's facility in Florham Park, N.J., Scott walked past reporters and then turned, stuck out his middle finger and used an expletive while telling a photographer to get the camera out of his face.||||||| The team says in a statement announcing the fine Thursday that Scott's "actions were inappropriate and unacceptable." It is uncertain whether Scott, who's owed $4 million in guarantees next season, will be back with the Jets next season.

The Jets have bolstered their defense in a big way, signing former Ravens linebacker Bart Scott to a six-year, $48 million deal.||||||| The 28-year-old Scott agreed to terms early Friday, visited the team and signed later in the day, agent Harold Lewis told The Associated Press. Scott will make $27 million over the first three years of the deal. Scott is reunited with Rex Ryan, who left Baltimore after four years as the Ravens' defensive coordinator to become coach of the Jets. Scott ranked second on the Ravens in tackles last season.
