ESPN.com has reported that Bethea has been given a first-round tender by the Colts. He has played in two Pro Bowls, including this season when he was chosen as an alternate.||||||| Indianapolis has indicated that they would like to keep Bethea for at least one more year.

Bethea has cracked a bone in his right hand, leaving him on the sideline for both of Indianapolis' practices Wednesday.||||||| Coach Jim Caldwell did not give a timetable for Bethea's return. Caldwell said Bethea would be fitted for a cast and would return when he can play while wearing the cast.

Bethea was inactive for Sunday's game against Houston because of a knee injury.||||||| Bethea, who is tied for the team lead with four interceptions, also sat out last week against Oakland.

Bethea (sprained left knee) is not expected to play for the Colts on Sunday at Oakland.||||||| Bethea was injured during last Sunday's 44-20 rout in Baltimore. He did not finish the game, but most of the Colts starters were pulled midway through the third quarter anyway. The injury appears to be serious enough for him to miss some playing time.
