Dennard was sentenced Thursday to 30 days in jail and two years of probation for assaulting a police officer outside a Lincoln bar last year.||||||| In court, Dennard apologized to his coaches, supporters, police and his family and promised to abide by the terms of the probation. He declined comment after leaving court.

Dennard has been convicted of assaulting a police officer in Lincoln, Neb., last year.||||||| The Lincoln Journal Star is reporting a Lancaster County jury found Dennard guilty Wednesday of the felony charge and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. The jury found Dennard not guilty of third-degree assault against another man. He faces up to five years in prison when he is sentenced on a later date.
