Mack had an appendectomy on Oct. 3, one day after playing all 87 snaps against the Titans despite being ill. Mack was on the field with his teammates for practice Wednesday, but only as an observer. He stood to the side and watched his the Browns offensive line did drills. Coach Pat Shurmur remains hopeful that he'll have one of his best players Sunday when the Browns (2-2) visit the Raiders (3-2).

Don't let this fool fantasy owners into thinking Mack is suddenly going to be part of Pat Shurmur's tricky offensive schemes. At the end of the day, he's a 311-pound center - albeit a talented one.

Mack had a solid second pro season. In Hawaii, he'll join Cleveland left tackle Joe Thomas, who was named to his fourth straight AFC team. Mack has not missed an offensive snap since joining the Browns, who selected him with the No. 21 overall pick in 2009. Mack is the first Browns center to make the Pro Bowl since Tom DeLeone in 1981.
