Mack is not practicing and his status for Sunday's game in Oakland remains unclear.||||||| Mack had an appendectomy on Oct. 3, one day after playing all 87 snaps against the Titans despite being ill. Mack was on the field with his teammates for practice Wednesday, but only as an observer. He stood to the side and watched his the Browns offensive line did drills. Coach Pat Shurmur remains hopeful that he'll have one of his best players Sunday when the Browns (2-2) visit the Raiders (3-2).

Mack scored the final touchdown on a 67-yard pass play that featured two laterals with 16 seconds left in the AFC's wild 55-41 Pro Bowl loss.||||||| Don't let this fool fantasy owners into thinking Mack is suddenly going to be part of Pat Shurmur's tricky offensive schemes. At the end of the day, he's a 311-pound center - albeit a talented one.

Mack is going to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Nick Mangold, injured in the New York Jets' AFC championship game loss.||||||| Mack had a solid second pro season. In Hawaii, he'll join Cleveland left tackle Joe Thomas, who was named to his fourth straight AFC team. Mack has not missed an offensive snap since joining the Browns, who selected him with the No. 21 overall pick in 2009. Mack is the first Browns center to make the Pro Bowl since Tom DeLeone in 1981.

Mack will start at center in the season opener against the Vikings on Sunday.||||||| Mack was the 21st overall pick in spring's draft out of California. He'll be snapping to Brady Quinn, who beat out Derek Anderson for the starting job.

The Cleveland Browns have signed Mack, the first-round draft pick from California.||||||| The All-American was awarded the Draddy Trophy in 2008, given to college football's top scholar-athlete and was a two-time Rimington Trophy finalist, given to the nation's top center. He did not allow any sacks or quarterback pressures on 397 pass plays as a senior in 2008.
