General manager Mark Dominik announced the move Wednesday, saying he appreciated Haynesworth filling in for seven games and that he wishes the 350-pound tackle the best moving forward.||||||| The veteran of 10 NFL seasons was claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots on Nov. 8. He started six games for Tampa Bay, finishing with 25 tackles.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed Haynesworth off waivers, one day after the defensive lineman was released by the New England Patriots.||||||| General manager Mark Dominik confirmed the move Wednesday, saying the Bucs more than likely would not have been interested in the 350-pound Haynesworth if the team had not lost Gerald McCoy for the season this week because of a torn right biceps. Haynesworth joined New England this year after two rocky seasons in Washington, where he signed a seven-year, $100 million free agent contract in 2009.

The Boston Herald is reporting that the New England Patriots have released defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. The move came Tuesday, two days after Haynesworth did not play for most of the second half of Sunday's 24-20 loss to the New York Giants.||||||| New England obtained Haynesworth for a fifth-round draft choice on July 28 after he spent two seasons with Washington on a seven-year, $100 million contract. He constantly feuded last season with Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and was suspended for the last four games for conduct detrimental to the club. With the Patriots, Haynesworth had six tackles in six games, missing two with a back injury. He had no tackles against the Giants.
